Waiting

Ben was moved out of the ICU today and into the EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit).  He is still sleeping almost uncontrollably, which is not a bad thing since he continues to struggle with headaches and nausea when he’s awake.  The bleeding in his brain is causing him much pain.  But we are thankful that the bleed has not gotten any worse.

Now we wait for him to have seizures.  I cannot explain how difficult it can be for us…waiting for Ben’s brain to begin firing improperly.  Sitting in a hospital room with nowhere to go, not knowing if or when Ben’s seizures will start.  Not being able to DO anything to start them.

Please pray that we won’t have to wait too long.  At this point, it seems as though the method of diagnosis is almost more challenging than the seizures themselves.

    I just sat down to see if you’d written anything. I kept wondering if there was bad news and that’s why there had been no report. We will continue to pray. You can tell Ben that this experience is making him more “holy” and “holely”. (Hoping that you all are ready for some humor.) Too bad that you don’t have the game that Ben made that we played in CG one time. Maybe someone will see this post and tell you they have it. May God continue to comfort you both.

    Continuing to pray for you guys.

    “Our soul waits for the LORD;
    He is our help and our shield.
    Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us,
    Even as we hope in you.” Psalm 33:20-21

    Hi Nancy,
    I saw Beth and her mom today at church and heard that it is a great time to pray for Ben. I wrote you a year or two ago that my son David went through the same surgery. It is hard in so many ways but God works in it. You will see fruit.
    We are waiting for insurance to approve another grid surgery for my David, which he wants to have asap. Please pray for wisdom for us.
    God’s best blessings to you, sister.

    Beth Nemati
