is not a flattering accessory.

This is a quote that Ben put on the dry erase board during his first hospital stay last April.  I find we are both tempted with self-pity now that we are home and it seems that not much has changed.  Ben is still battling seizures and I am battling fatigue.  We would both do well to remember the old hymn:

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face.  And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”

Please pray that Ben’s pain would lessen and that his mind would continue to heal.  And pray that my eyes would turn to Jesus and not to the many obstacles I seem to find all around me.  Broken cell phones (yes, we broke another one when Ben fell down the stairs yesterday during a seizure), broken washing machines and dryers…these are all reminders that the world is passing away  along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
